There are many suitable recorders you can buy – and many that aren’t! I personally remember starting to learn on a recorder that would always fall apart and made hardly any sound.

This plastic recorder is MUCH better than a cheap wooden one and is much better than many other plastic ones too.

A plastic recorder is best for young children as it can be washed if necessary. This one also has a thumb plate which can help young children to hold the recorder.

It also has a nice clear sound, plays in tune and is better than many more expensive recorders.
